Profile synopsis: ValueNotes has 4 websites – one corporate website and 3 commercial websites/ The Web Master will be responsible for design, development and maintenance of all these websites.
Education: Graduate/BE/BTech/MBA (preferably in IT/computer science).
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in website design and management.
- Candidate should have experience in managing a team
Job Description:
- Responsible for the design of company web sites including information architecture, user experience and functionality.
- Liase with business heads to develop designs and specifications for sites.
- Implement, measure and optimize search engine optimization strategies
- Maintain an inventory of advertisements and manage the ad server software.
- Debug issues that arise with the performance of the websites.
- Review statistics and monitor analytics. Experience with an analytics tool or google analytics.
- Plan for future changes to the website beyond the focus of day-to-day activities
Competencies:
Must have:
- Excellent understanding of the Internet, new technologies (web 2.0) and emerging trends.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to comprehend subject matter relevant to business / industry topics, and develop clear-cut system specifications.
- Experience in design of websites that have dynamic database driven content.
- Good command over HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and Extensible Markup Language (XML).
- Minimum 1 year experience in development using PHP, Mysql. Knowledge of Ajax, jscript.
- Understanding of SEO, SEM & online marketing.
- Able to develop and deploy wire frames.
- Knowledge of CMS systems like WordPress and Joomla.
Good to have:
- Knowledge of the open-source Unix operating system or its variants is a must.
- The webmaster may also use a web development application such as HTML editor tools. Understanding of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards (W3C guidelines).
